African Exposure - Ethiopia by phoenix2k African Exposure - Ethiopia by phoenix2k
Aight, here's the first shot I selected from my trip to Ethiopia. Seemed to be a good way to start the flow :)

Got about 20 or 30 to scan, but I'll probably end up submitting less than half of that. Depends on the feedaback =p If most of it is shit, then there's not really any point in posting all of them is there? :D

Anyway, hehe. For those of you who haven't been to Africa yet, I can tell you it's very different from what you'd expect. We've all seen the humanitarian aid commercials and documentaries of the bad conditions that some of these people live in. But if you manage to shift your focus and take a look around, you can see that it's also a host to a lot of beautiful, strange and funny things. That's what I tried to capture during my trip. You'll see doped up animals smashing into walls for chewing too many khat leaves, other animals roaming around the streets like there's no tomorrow, birds the size of a basketball player, and Coca-Cola signs in the middle of the desert.

It's gonna take me a while to scan all these pics, so I'll just start releasing them as I go along ;)

Enjoy

PS. There's nothing wrong with the tree. In fact most of the trees there are are flat like that. It also makes this picture look stretched. But like I said, things look different over there ;)

Ahh Langano! is anything left of it? The little houses around it? We used to go there on a holiday when I lived in Addis... beautiful shot full of good memories! Beautiful place. Thanks for sharing!

that's the clearest shot I've seen in your gallery until now. beautifully captured and extremely well presented.
but why did you use a ND filter for it?

anyway... :+fav:

I was afraid my pictures would come out badly since the sun was so intense. Some how having and ND filter felt reassuring :D
