This picture was taken in Tjøme, Norway while walking along the coast with my father. I've been doing a lot of soulsearching this summer, and I realised how fortunate I've been so far.

An old school friend of mine died this summer, and although we had our differences, she was still one of the only Finnish friends I had while studying in Paris. This was the first time someone my age has passed away, and it just reminded me of how short life can be. All I can say is that I am grateful for each passing day and for the fact that I'm still alive.

Photo was taken by Roald Pettersen at my request. Scanned and retouched in Adobe Photoshop back here in Cambridge.

Dedicated to: Anna, rest in peace.

Very nice tribute. Life IS too short. Embrace it while you can. :)

Well done.

this is breathtakingly beautiful and inspiring. my condolences about your friend...this is a lovely tribute. :blackrose:
Nice picture. The story behind it makes it even more meaningful. Did you use any filters to get the sky so dark?
The proportions and the text at the bottom remind me of a movie poster.
The colors and tones are pretty close to the original, although I added a color layer to make the clouds stand out a little better. I also adjusted the brightness and contrast, since my scanner isn't exactly the best in the world :)

The shutter speed was set to 1500 or 2000, which made the picture come out pretty dark. I was afraid it'd get over-exposed, since it was directly facing the sun.
