Ethiopia - Debre Libanos

Debre Libanos is a monastery in Ethiopia, lying northwest of Addis Ababa in the Oromia Region. It was founded in the thirteenth century by Saint Tekle Haymanot who was the second most powerful official in the Ethiopian Church. The original structure was destroyed but it was rebuilt during Emperor Haile Selassie's reign.

The church has some strict rules such as "Women during menstruation period are not allowed to enter" and "men and women who have had sexual inter-course are not allowed to enter the church for the next 48 hrs".

The entrance fee only cost about 4€ and it's well worth visiting. Unless you've just had sexual inter-course
